Palace on Wheels

Palace on Wheels is a luxury class train, especially for the foreigners to experience a royal tour to the state Rajasthan, the Land of Kings. This is the first luxurious train launched by the Rajasthan Tourism Department and the Indian Railway Department. The journey starts and ends at New Delhi, Safdarjung Railway station. The tour is of 7 Nights/ 8 Days. The train has 14 luxurious coaches for the guests. Each coach is highly ornated and reflects the royal culture of the old private lounges of the Maharajas of Rajasthan. The guests are ensured with the best service , which includes the multi variety cuisine, spa treatments, bar, indoor games and off-train excursions. The guests experience the traditional Indian culture throughout their exclusive tour.

Day 1

At 1400 hours at the Safdarjung Railway station , guests report and check in all the formalities . At 1830 hours the journey proceeds to Jaipur, the first destination of the tour.

Day 2

Arrival at Jaipur with a warm welcome. After  breakfast a tour to all the local places of Jaipur.  Grand lunch at Amber Fort and Exotic Dinner at Jai Mahal Palace.

Day 3

Reach Sawai Madhopor Railway station and proceed to Ranthambore Natiional Park. Breakfast in the Forest lodge. Later proceed to Chittorgarh, in the evening visit the Chittorgarh Fort . Royal dinner at hotel Panna accompanied with a cultural show.

Day 4

Arrive at Udaipur, the lake city of India. Experience the exotic city tour of Udaipur and a boat ride in the Lake Pichola.

Day 5

Arrive at Jaisalmer, the golden city and explore the sand dunes riding on the camels and other local places. Guests can enjoy the traditional cuisines with the cultural programs of the state.

Day 6

Reach Jodhpur and after breakfast onboard, proceed for the local tourist places. Lunch for the guests will be arranged in a deluxe hotel. In the evening will return back to the train and rest of the time is to relax. In the night the journey proceeds to Bharatpur.

Day 7

Reach Bharatpur early morning and by 6 am proceed for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the world famous bird sanctuary.  The tour in the sanctuary is for 2-2 ½ hours. By 8.45 am board the train and proceed to Agra. By 10.30 reach Agra and proceed to visit the Taj Mahal and the local market of Agra.  Dinner would be in a deluxe hotel in the city and the night journey is back to New Delhi.

Day 8

It is the last of the journey of the exotic Rajasthan tour.  The train reaches early morning at New Delhi, Safdarjung Railway station. There is an onboard breakfast and a formal farewell to the guests.
